I am a double major in mathematics and computer science. My interests tend toward the theoretical side of things, but that's not to say I don't enjoy sitting down and getting my hands dirty. I particularly enjoy geometry, mathematical analysis, probability, and algorithm design. After I graduate, I plan to go into the computer industry as a software engineer or similar. Starting in the summer of '08, I have been working with Prof. Li Han and Prof. Lee Rudolph in the Multibody Systems Research Group. We are researching motion planning for geometric linkages. The main applications of this research are in robotics, although they could be used for a wide variety of things, such as protein folding or origami. My main duties in the group are designing and coding simulations of linkages. The Multibody Systems Research Group at Clark UniversityOutside of my academic interests, I pursue a wide range of hobbies. I have been playing music for most of my life; I started drum lessons when I was five years old. My primary instrument is percussion, though I've dabbled in guitar and piano, and enjoy composing. I have been doing origami for many years now, and now I design and fold my own creations. I have been to the OrigamiUSA Conference in New York City twice, in '06 and '07, and hope to go again in '09. I enjoy games of nearly every kind, from chess to videogames to tabletop RPGs. |
